The Role

Overview

Lead dam safety projects, managing design, analysis, field work, and client relations.

Tasks

-Plan, manage, and lead field investigations for various hydraulic structures and embankments (soil drilling, rock coring, concrete coring, in-situ testing, test pits, etc.). -Prepare and perform quality reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications. -Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects. -Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management. -Provide technical support for projects including seepage and slope stability analyses, filter and drain design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures. -Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff. -Develop engineering proposals. -Perform engineering estimates for cost and project schedules. -Responsible for quality control.

What You Bring

-8 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering and/or Dams Engineering. -Project experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. -Master's degree in Civil Engineering. -Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed. -Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Geotechnical Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states. -Experience in relevant geotechnical engineering software programs such as GeoStudio and gINT. -Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required. -Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification. -Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. -Relevant experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
