Overview

Lead material management, purchasing and staff for large construction projects.

Tasks

-Ensure project specific safety plan is followed by material management group while promoting a safety-first mentality and culture site wide. -Manage project support functions such as site security, portable toilets, temporary fencing, dumpsters, trailer setup, etc. -Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of project materials. -Supervise the completion of large project mobilization and/or demobilization. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Verify OSD&E resolution is being tracked. -Provide training and conduct material management related audits to ensure procedures are followed. -Develop and direct material management team including both craft and staff personnel. -Responsible for projections, financial planning, delivery schedules and material management reporting. -Implement and maintain policies and procedures for material control with minimal outside assistance. -Represent company in negotiations and coordination with suppliers. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Communicate and enforce material management procedures to project team.

What You Bring

-Proven ability to plan and execute project work. -BA degree and/or eight plus years’ experience in power or industrial construction role. -Working knowledge of site purchasing, execution, estimating and their impact on material management. -Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. -Ability to relocate for long-term and short-term field assignments as required. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Capable of gaining buy in cross functionally and organizationally at all levels. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Regular, reliable attendance -Team player who can also work independently to meet goals and objectives. -Ability to lead others and manage complex processes. -Working knowledge of prime contract requirements for project execution . -Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all material management functions. -Must possess strong leadership and management skills. -Ability to manage, train and coach purchasing and material control staff. -Prior experience with tracking equipment, materials, labor budgets, trends and forecasts.
