Tasks

-Compliance and Standards: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, codes, laws, and safety protocols. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and standards. -Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team. Review and approve designs, specifications, and technical documentation. -Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering budget. Optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency. -Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. -Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Identify emerging technologies and trends to keep the company at the forefront of the industry. -Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including System Control and Field Operations, and Public Relations, to ensure seamless integration of engineered solutions. -Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, designers, CAD/GIS techs, ROW agents and managers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

-Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design, and analysis. Proficiency in relevant software and tools. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. -Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience engineering in the electric utility industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. -Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Alaska or equivalent certification, required. -Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
