Tasks

-Build and maintain strong relationships as the primary contact for construction clients and owner agencies -Assemble and lead high-performing multi-discipline project teams, including engineers, designers, and subconsultants -Manage subcontractor relationships and performance -Manage client expectations and ensure client satisfaction -Provide mentorship and guidance to team members -Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet design and construction standards -Lead the development of design and construction plans in collaboration with engineering and construction teams -Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation -Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines -Identify and resolve quality issues -Responsible for design-build pursuits in collaboration with contractor partners -Foster a collaborative and productive work environment -Maintain project schedules and budgets -Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions -Identify and mitigate project risks -Manage project contracts, including change orders, claims, and dispute resolution -Effectively communicate with clients, staff, management, and owner agencies

What You Bring

-Proven experience in design project management, preferably for design-build projects -5+ years of NCDOT DB experience -Ability and commitment to be assigned to projects locally and across the southeastern U.S. -Minimum of 10 years of experience in highway infrastructure design -Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines -Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment -Excellent communication and presentation skills -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field -Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina -Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
