Application Engineer - Automation

Tasks

-Provides periodic knowledge transfer events with channel partners in coordination with the Channel Account Manager. -Performs complex hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs. -Supports marketing and knowledge transfer through participation on at least one technology core team. -Generates technical collateral such as application notes and examples for reuse by others. -Works closely with Account Managers and Sales Specialists to achieve sales and market growth. -Serve as a technical lead on automation opportunities, guiding customers and sales teams through solution development. -Supports our channel on opportunities in collaboration with the channel application engineer and sales team. -Conduct discovery meetings with customers to understand project requirements and identify the best-fit solutions. -Provide application-level support for Siemens automation products (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Drives, Industrial Networks). -Resolves very complex technical problems to meet customers' needs. Acts as one escalation point for major customer technical issues when on-site issue resolution is required. -Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concept configurations. -Applies acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price, and functionality. -Create technical documentation such as system architecture diagrams, configuration notes, and BOMs.

-PC-Based Automation -Bachelor of Science in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering or computer science -Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills -Machine Integrated Safety -Motion Control and Drives -Proof of Concept -Prior experience with Siemens Automation is a plus -Qualified to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship of any kind -HMI Panels -Customer Focus: Intense customers focus and uses customer information for improvement in products and service. -Good verbal and written communication skills in English -5+ years of experience in automation/motion control systems and demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as described above. -Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
