Tasks

The Engineer is responsible for testing, including developing test scripts, coordinating business sign-off, and ensuring timely and proper validation of changes and releases. They perform incident management by analyzing issues, conducting root cause analysis, deploying fixes, and ensuring swift resolution of problems. Additionally, the Engineer supports process improvement and project delivery by monitoring performance, collaborating with architects, and managing specific project deliverables for efficient execution. Summary - The Functional Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing IT solutions and processes that align with global IT and security standards to meet R&D business needs in the formulation management domain. This domain manages AkzoNobel’s formulations and makes sure they are ready for manufacturing. The Functional Engineer translates business requirements into clear, detailed designs and high-quality change specifications and implements them or oversee implementation. They ensure all standards are followed and solutions are stable, sustainable, and compliant with architectural and security principles. Their role involves translating business requirements into detailed specifications and implementing those, coordinating with Agile DevOps teams or project management structures, and ensuring high-quality change execution and testing. They actively participate in preparing and executing changes, collaborating with internal partners and external consultants, and may also help resolve urgent incidents and improve business processes.

What You Bring

Formulations sub-domain specific knowledge -Experience in configuring Infor Optiva or ASD ProductVision software or other PLM application -Experience with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with inquisitive approach -Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies -Experience in modeling notations such as BPMN, ERD, ArchiMate, UML -Ability to coordinate specifications and delivery of work with external vendors when specific developments are required -Strong teamwork and collaboration skills but with ability to work independently -> 4 years of experience in IT projects as an IT professional to develop/enhance business applications and their integrations -Batchelor or master’s degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering or related field study -Experience with Microsoft SQL databases -Willingness to proactively engage with business users to fully understand needs -Familiarity with formulation development and/or regulatory areas within a manufacturing organization -Ability to apply critical thinking to find best solutions and identify impacts, risks and dependencies -Experience in applications management: Windows Server, Services, .Net, REST APIs, Events, Scripting such as JS, PowerShell -Experience of configuring standard applications with involvement in design, build and test phases to deliver quality solutions with minimum rework
