Lead Industrial Estimator

Overview

Manages and prepares estimates for industrial construction projects, including bidding.

Tasks

-Supervise and train estimating staff (if applicable) -Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters) -Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors -Review project plans, requirements and specifications -Maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors -Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules -Compare competitive trade bids -Submit requisitions for purchase of materials -Determine labor and construction equipment costs -Coordinate subcontract solicitations and jobwalks -Participate in bid compilation on bid day -Assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award -Prepare conceptual estimates -Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing

What You Bring

-Experience with software such as HCSS (Heavy Bid) Sage Timberline, Destini Estimator -Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings, must have ability to perform crew-based estimating. -Working knowledge of construction costs and principles -Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations -Proven background estimating for industrial, oil & energy with an emphasis on experience estimating mechanical process piping, structural steel, civil concrete and equipment setting.
