Tasks
-Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. -Position will include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots. -Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. -Will work on planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment. -Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. -Assist mechanical designers and drafters in developing the structural design of equipment and piping systems using computer-assisted design (CAD) and 3D design software -Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions. -Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer. -Research, design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles. -Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification. -Responsible for completing project specific objectives on time, under direction of Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer; Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. -Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

What You Bring
-Must have bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or related engineering field -Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field -Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. -Energy and Chemical and/or Power Design Engineering Experience -Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field -Complex Problem Solving -5 + years of experience in a design engineering or related field -Judgment and Decision Making -Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. -Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse, and trailer or building on construction sites. -Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written) -Prefer Power Plant Design and/or Heavy Industrial Design experience -Attention to Detail -Critical Thinking -FE and PE or willingness to obtain both
