NV5 is seeking a skilled professional with expertise in traffic design for our Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office. Primary responsibility will be the preparation of work zone traffic control plans (i.e., transportation management plans), signing and pavement marking, traffic signal design, ITS design, and roadway lighting. Ideal candidate will be a team player with a minimum of 4 years of traffic engineering experience on North Carolina and South Carolina DOT projects. Candidate will be part of a growing traffic engineering team involved in a wide variety of NCDOT and municipal transportation projects. We are seeking a Traffic Engineer (EI) who will work on transportation planning and traffic engineering projects for our Traffic Services Group in our Cary or Charlotte, NC office. -Knowledge of state and municipal policies, standards, specifications, and guidelines desired. -Experience preparing traffic engineering design plans for a state DOT or municipality. -Excellent communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills. -Experience preparing signing and pavement marking plans; -Minimum 4 years of experience in traffic engineering. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. -Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time. -BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field. -Traffic signal design, closed-loop signal system design, and ITS design; -Experience using MicroStation, ORD, or Civil3D is preferred. -Project or Task Management experience is preferred but not required. -Preferred to have Professional Engineer license, with ability to obtain NC PE within 3 months. -Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
