Software Engineer (Back End Developer)

Overview

Develop and maintain Java backend services for DoD's GCCS-J system.

Tasks

-Interface with geographically dispersed development teams and communicate project statuses and barriers effectively. -Follow the Agile Development process, which includes requirements, design, implementation, test, and maintenance. -Lead independent technical investigations, provide technical advice, and recommend technical solutions. -Assist the Government in integrating GCCS-J functionality into new baselines. -Prioritize activities to deliver projects on time and within budget.

What You Bring

-Advanced proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Design and Programming. -US citizenship with the ability to obtain a final Secret Clearance. -Experience with Docker container use and Open Container Initiative (OCI) containerized application development. -Familiarity with database design/structures and Agile methodologies. -Proficiency in various database types (SQL, NoSQL, GeoSpatial, Key/Object pair, etc.). -Proficiency in writing REST web services. -Experience writing microservices using the Spring Boot framework. -Experience with IDEs such as VSCode and Netbeans. -Bachelor's Degree in a Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics (STEM) program or equivalent related work experience. -Experience with JavaScript and Node.js. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration. -Top Secret Security Clearance. -Familiarity with Kubernetes and automated testing tools. -Background in military intelligence and imagery or strategic planning. -Experience with at least one event and messaging streaming platform such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ. -Rudimentary Linux and Windows System Administration skills. -Experience with build ecosystems such as Maven, Gradl, and Jenkins.
