Tasks

- Apply best practice approaches to manage multiple critical categories effectively. - Lead the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize costs and improve operations. - Develop complex sourcing events while qualifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for targeted categories of spend. - Create and manage project plans for implementing category strategies; integrate sourcing plans with business project plans. - Conduct analyses of supply, demand, market trends, commodity pricing, supplier performance, and contract modeling to inform category strategies. - Manage tier I supplier relationships focused on improving total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Administer all category contract agreements while ensuring compliance with contract terms by suppliers. - Create performance-based scorecards to monitor and evaluate supplier performance; lead dispute resolution efforts with suppliers. This role is pivotal in driving category strategy for multiple complex and high-impact categories within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing effective sourcing strategies that align with business objectives. This position involves planning and leading competitive sourcing events, negotiating with suppliers, managing risk mitigation efforts, and forming contracts with critical suppliers. - Monitor industry information and supplier risk profiles to keep category strategies aligned with business requirements. - Collaborate with business area management to define risk elements of contracts and assemble necessary documentation for insurance procurement. - Negotiate contracts that support category strategies while fulfilling business area requirements; manage contractor claims effectively. - Collaborate with logistics personnel to implement optimal inventory strategies.

What You Bring

Open to candidates in both Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN - 10+ years of experience demonstrating negotiation skills with a proven track record in IT contract formation and management. - Excellent analytical skills for conducting market analysis and supplier evaluations. - Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing or logistics; 2+ years of experience in contract formation preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. - Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to resolve conflicts amicably. - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance or a related field or equivalent experience required. - Proficient in project management methodologies to oversee implementation efforts effectively.
