Welder Pipefitter

Overview

Certified welder/pipefitter installing and welding mechanical piping on commercial sites.

Tasks

-Maintain accurate documentation on weld logs, material usage, and inspections. -Weld and fabricate various piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper. -Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers on installation sequencing. -Secure piping systems with supports such as clamps, hangers, and brackets. -Interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs. -Perform field measurements, layout, cutting, and preparation of piping for welding or fitting. -Install and weld piping systems per specifications, drawings, and codes (SMAW, GTAW, MIG). -Select appropriate type and size of pipe, fittings, and materials for each project. -Conduct pressure and leak testing on completed welds and pipe systems. -Supervise and mentor apprentices and helper-level workers. -Follow all safety standards and welding procedures (ASME, AWS, OSHA).

What You Bring

-Skilled in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. -Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for field work. -Minimum 5 years of combined experience in pipefitting and welding in commercial or industrial environments. -Ability to gain clearance to work on state and federal properties. -Strong experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper pipe systems. -Demonstrated leadership experience or willingness to mentor apprentices. -Must pass background check and drug screening. -Thread, groove, solder, or braze pipe as required. -OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred. -High school diploma or GED required. -Certified Welder (AWS or ASME)—must be able to pass company welding test prior to employment.
