Tasks

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic and technical support for fire detection and life safety systems, ensuring all works and documentation meet compliance, safety, and quality standards. The role contributes to the organisation by maintaining high standards of service delivery, supporting engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring the reliable operation of complex fire safety systems across client sites. -Conduct and document site audits, H&S inspections, and system compliance reviews. -Utilise fire alarm configuration tools to assist with technical enquiries and RAMS development. -Organise, manage, and inspect sub-contractors’ work to ensure quality and compliance. -Carry out site surveys and produce detailed technical reports. -Review job reports and authorise sign-off following verification of completion and quality standards. -Accountable – takes ownership of projects, site audits, and technical deliverables. -Prepare and manage service remedials, including quotations, mobilisation, and project tracking. -Detail-Oriented – ensures accuracy in compliance, documentation, and technical writing. -Review cause & effect (C&E) matrixes to ensure correct system operation and configuration. -Customer-Focused – maintains professional communication and delivers high-quality service outcomes. -Write task-specific technical RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) including isolation/reinstatement procedures. -Review and interpret client requirements, ensuring alignment with BS5839-1 and other relevant standards. -Provide strategic customer and engineer technical support for fire detection and life safety systems. -Safety-Conscious – promotes and enforces health and safety best practices. -Collaborative – works effectively with engineers, clients, and subcontractors. -Undertake compliance reviews of works, reports, and technical documentation.

What You Bring

Soft Skills Technical Skills -Understanding and interpretation of C&E matrixes. -50% office-based and 50% site-based, with flexibility to meet project and client demands. -Additional electrical or mechanical qualifications advantageous. -Mechanical systems understanding (preferred). -Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail. -Strong ability to write technical RAMS and develop isolation/reinstatement procedures. -Experience within data centre environments (preferred). -Experience with VESDA, Gas Suppression, Emergency Voice Communication, and Fire Damper systems. -RAMS Quality: Technical completeness and clarity of RAMS and procedures produced. -Proven experience in fire alarm systems and life safety compliance. -Electrical knowledge to BS7671 (preferred). -Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams. -Proactive – anticipates issues and implements preventive actions. -Recognised fire alarm and suppression system qualifications. -Analytical and problem-solving mindset. -Analytical – able to interpret technical data, identify risks, and propose solutions. -Proficiency with large networked fire detection systems and associated configuration tools. -Excellent communication and technical writing ability. -Team Support Effectiveness: Responsiveness and quality of technical support to engineers and subcontractors -In-depth knowledge of Fire Detection Systems in accordance with BS5839-1 (essential) and BS6266 (preferred).
