The Role

Overview

Oversee engineering site works, quality, setting‑out & coordination across multiple NW projects

Tasks

-Oversee and support the Management of the works, specifically the Engineering elements to align with Galliford Try’s Safety Management Policies and industry standards to create a safe working environment. -Undertake As Built surveys and log data. -Use, manage, calibrate all setting out equipment and to look after all equipment in your control. Minimum expectations are EDM and Electronic Levelling equipment, enabling transfer/interpretation of CAD information. -Undertake Material Quality checks for compliance, and reconciliations. -To implement the works in line with the Contract Programme and to carry out all tasks as directed by your supervisor to the best of your ability and to agreed timescales. Inputting into and drafting Programmes for the works using Asta. -To robustly implement the Business Management System to achieve the Quality expectations of the project in line with the Contract, Specification and Drawings. Writing and reviewing PQP’s, ITP’s and overseeing implementation with the progressive compilation of on site Quality Inspections. -To take responsibility of monitoring and recording the progress of the project and your own duties and responsibilities. Recording daily diaries along with photographic evidence/records. -Read and interpret drawings and other data formats -To have/acquire sufficient technical knowledge of Construction, Engineering, and other elements of the build to oversee and support the undertaking of the works. Provide information to operatives and Sub-Contractors and co-ordinate the works with all parties.

What You Bring

-Good communication skills – verbal, written and digital -Computer literate in MS Word, XL, CAD and the use of Common Data Environments such as View for Projects and Field View or similar -Industry Professional body membership -Relevant CSCS Car -Ability to work safely -Desirable to have a good working knowledge of Asta Teamplan or Power Project -Demonstrate commitment and a positive attitude to Supervisors, Management, Consultants and Supply Chain. -HNC level as a minimum however a Degree in Civil Engineering would be preferential -Flexible with the ability to solve problems and find solutions -Previous experience in a similar role for a tier one contractor -Quick to learn and strives for continuous improvement in everyday tasks -Confident in setting out techniques -Ability to work between multiple sites at any one time
