Tasks

-Leading a team of inspectors in the field during inspections -Developing repair recommendations -Performing on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts -Reviewing and updating bridge inspection reports -Operating access equipment and other equipment to perform inspections -Reviewing structural analysis data -Scheduling and coordinating inspections, personnel, vendors, stakeholders, maintenance of traffic

-Strong writing and communication skills -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines. -NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course with Refresher Training within the last 5 years -NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges and Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures Courses preferred but not required -Valid driver’s license. -50% Local In-State Travel required -Minimum of 5+ years of experience in bridge inspections with a minimum of 1 year service as a qualified NBIS Team Leader -The successful candidate will have experience in conducting field inspections and preparing inspection reports. Candidates should possess a strong working knowledge of NBIS and have advanced writing and communication skills. -EIT or P.E. license preferred but not required -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR). -Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
