The Role
Overview
Operate and maintain a new wastewater treatment plant, monitoring systems and performing maintenance.

Tasks
-Develop good team working behaviours with the client and other Company staff -Undergo training as required and identify training needs -Carry out daily laboratory water analysis and promptly report any deviations to Site Management and Technical Team -Development and maintenance of good housekeeping practices -Gather all systems information and complete plant logs to understand the function and operation of the WWTP on site. -Establish and maintain professional relationships with customer personnel, Company employees and sub-contractor staff. -Utilising plant information, identify any changes in system performance and/or potential operational problems and evaluate and make initial recommendations to return plant to its optimum operating condition. -Identity faults, identify solutions & carry out basic repairs. -Work within the client and Company Quality, Health & Safety & Environment (QHSE) systems -Promptly raise any issues which could affect both the client and internally.

What You Bring
-Time served Technician/Fitter/Electrician/Mechanic -Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment plants -Computer literate -Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter -To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant -Experience of working directly with sub-contractors -NVQ Level 2 -Visible ownership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally. -Nijhuis will welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate willingness to develop into the role as well as experienced applicants -Probationary Period – 6 months -Innovate in the workplace to deliver Continuous improvement and exploit opportunities. -Demonstrate the ability to work within a quality system -A working knowledge of running electro-mechanical plant -Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance -Training in Environmental Health and Safety -Operational and maintenance knowledge of wastewater treatment plant

Benefits
-Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation -Hours of Work – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. -Overtime – will be paid at 1.5. When rostered standby, there is associated overtime on Saturday and Sunday (4 hours per day). -Standby - £25 per day. Will be expected to be on standby 1 in 4 -Salary Banding – Up to £34,000 (DOE) -Eligible for Death in Service benefit (4 x basic salary) and Group Income Protection upon commencement of employment -Holidays – 25 days + 8 statutory days -Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months - Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice
