Extruder Operator- Day Shift

Overview

Operate PVC extrusion lines, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity in vinyl window production.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Perform visual inspections and take precise measurements using calipers to ensure product quality -Maintain a clean and organized work area—spray down equipment, sweep floors, and remove clutter -Safely disassemble, clean, reassemble, and change over extrusion tooling sets using overhead crane tools -Use of hands for handling tools and machinery -Complete reports on productivity, machine conditions, and finished goods using bundle tickets and work orders -Assist with packaging and forklift operations as needed -Operate 1–3 PVC profile extrusion lines to meet production and quality standards

Requirements

What You Bring

-Associate’s degree or equivalent from a technical school, plus 6–12 months of related experience (or equivalent combination) -Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents -Tolerance for high-paced environments and multi-tasking scenarios -Forklift certification -Loud noise levels (85–115 dB range) -Visual acuity for close-up work, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment -Problem-solving ability and comfort with detailed instructions -Regular lifting: up to 10 lbs; frequent lifting: up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting: up to 50 lbs -Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 100% of the time) -Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages, and bar graphs) -Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
