The Role
Overview
Inspect and document roadway/bridge construction, perform tests, and prepare reports.

Tasks
-A daily documentation of the contractor’s work efforts. -Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package. -Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations. -Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities. -Material sampling and testing. -Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications. -Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout. -Responsible for preparing backup documentation for progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration. -Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing. -Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods. -Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects). -Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation. -Receives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems. -Assists Senior Inspectors and/or Project Administrator with completion of specific tasks and assists in all phases of the construction project. -Project field book preparation and documentation.

What You Bring
-EC Level 2 -Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required. -DOT Intermediate MOT -QMS Roadway -QMS Density -Ability to work in a team environment. -Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly). -Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed to perform your assigned task. -ABC Density -AAS Civil Engineering Technology plus two (2+) years experience; with at least one (1+) year roadway construction inspection experience. -ABC Sampling -Density log book preparation and documentation. -High school graduate with four (4+) years experience in construction inspection, one (1+) year of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
