Tasks

-Manage the subcontractor and vendor bidding process, including qualification, bid leveling, and contract recommendations. -Provide value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize designs and budgets. -Analyze drawings, specifications, and design documents to produce detailed cost estimates, material takeoffs, and scopes of work. -Lead the estimating and budgeting process for residential and light commercial projects from concept through contract. -Maintain and improve internal estimating systems, cost databases, and procurement processes. -Ensure pre-construction deliverables are accurate, documented, and aligned with company standards and client expectations. -Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to refine project feasibility and scope alignment. -Partner with the Project Management team to ensure smooth handoff from pre-construction to field execution. -Monitor market pricing trends, supply chain conditions, and trade availability to inform budgets and proposals.

What You Bring

-A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing -1+ year of experience in estimating or purchasing -Ability to navigate active construction sites safely (lift up to 50 lbs, access crawlspaces, uneven terrain, etc.) -2+ years of experience in residential or commercial construction -Experience performing takeoffs, budget development, and cost analysis -Office-based role with regular site visits for meetings, walkthroughs, and assessments -Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills -Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications -Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, project management platforms (CoConstruct, Buildertrend, or similar), and construction estimating software -5 days annually (Years 1-2)
