The Role

Overview

Assist skilled craftspersons in fabricating and installing structural steel components.

Tasks

-Use Come-a-longs, chain falls, and other industry tools and equipment, and install, use, and remove stop plates, dogs, and pad eyes -Unload, sort, and stack heavy steel pieces, then hoist each one into the proper place for fastening. -Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for jackets and decks -Lay out and fit pipe, beams, decks and jackets; frame skids, bends, and elevations for jackets; cut plate, pipe, and beams using a cutting torch. -Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring

-Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload -Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions -Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision -Field experience in chosen craft discipline -May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. -Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools. -Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft) -Learn to read blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols to derive measurements, dimensions, and quantity of material needed to fabricate a structure. -Able to meet all physical requirements. -Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
