The Role

Overview

Install and maintain electrical control systems in construction projects.

Tasks

-Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems -Participate in out-of-town projects and be available for after-hours work as required. -Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace faulty components -Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, temperature sensors, actuators and panels. -Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces -Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures -Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations -Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations -Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings -Adhere to all company policies and procedures

What You Bring

-Experience with HVAC, building electrical systems and VFD’s an asset -Main skill required, indentured apprenticeship in Manitoba (1st & 2nd Year) with conduit experience -Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstrac -Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology -Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work -Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics -Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral -Commercial/ Construction installations experience -High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college
