The Role

Overview

Procure materials, issue orders, and manage vendor relations for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Review and approve invoices. Interface with vendor and A/P to resolve invoice problems. -Performs leveling of vendor quotations. -Receives and reviews field requisitions for completeness and accuracy; conferring with requestor when clarification is required. -Handle return material to ensure proper and timely credit to the project. -Assist in generating submittal information for requested commodities, supplies or equipment working with requesting department to identify needs. -Releases material from pre‐negotiated blanket purchase orders, maintaining tracking logs of released material and quantities released. -Issue change orders as required in accordance with revised BOM's. -Expedite and ensure timely delivery and back orders, follow‐up to maintain optimum field production. -Prepares bid invitations for RFQ / RFP. -Secures vendor quotations on requisitions. -Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary -Processes requisitions for purchase.

What You Bring

-Oral and written communication skills as required for the position -General work environment - sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. -Skill in both verbal and written communication -Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude -Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. -Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred -Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others -Minimum 2 years in purchasing or related field in the electrical industry -High school diploma or equivalent -Self‐motivated, proactive and an effective team player
