Terminal Operator Trainee - Liquid Asphalt

Overview

Assist in operating & maintaining a liquid asphalt terminal, loading/unloading tankers.

Tasks

-Responsible for greasing, lubrication, and other preventative maintenance including welding. -Loading and unloading Elevated Temperature Liquid Tankers -Troubleshoot and repair, storage tanks, agitators, pumps, transfer lines, scales, condensers, etc. -Operates heavy machinery including forklifts, man lifts, loader (backhoe) -Responsible for greasing and lubrication -Operating and maintaining a Liquid Asphalt production plant -Records and maintains accurate maintenance records and forms -Unloading Elevated Temperature Liquid Railcars -Responsible for the inspection of safety devices, asphalt pumps, valves, and equipment -Ensures all safety guidelines are followed -Maintains the processing equipment within the general guidelines for each piece of processing machinery as directed

What You Bring

-Use of hand tools safely and effectively. -Experience in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is a huge plus. -Must be able to apply and retain information provided in crew meetings. -Basic welding skills or knowledge of fabrication is a plus. -Must be able to understand directions/instructions on methods/process to do work -Experience with operating procedures of multiple types of equipment -High school diploma or GED equivalent -Must be capable of operating the assigned machine and any other related equipment in a safe manner, and must be able to do a competent inspection of the equipment. -Must be able to maintain high level of awareness for a busy project work environment -Proven experience in a setting that requires mechanical know-how. -Must have basic knowledge of proper operating procedures of multiple types of equipment -Must be understand technical drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
