-Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing. -Prepare and present detailed budgets, cost estimates, and proposals to stakeholders. -Utilize and refine specialized estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency. -Leverages advanced estimating and project management software for precise bid preparation. -Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, supporting Willmeng’s commitment to quality and innovation. -Develop comprehensive cost estimates and identify value engineering opportunities. -Analyzes project plans, specs, and costs to deliver accurate, competitive estimates. -Analyze blueprints, specs, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and requirements. -Maintains a meticulous, detail-driven approach to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness. -Conduct risk and opportunity assessments to ensure thorough, reliable estimates. -Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.

What You Bring
As a Heavy Civil Estimator at Willmeng, you play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for complex infrastructure projects. You analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, and equipment costs. By soliciting and reviewing subcontractor and vendor quotes, you ensure comprehensive scope coverage and value for every proposal. You assess project risks and work closely with project managers and engineers to develop strategies that position Willmeng for success. Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of heavy civil construction are essential, reflecting Willmeng’s commitment to quality, integrity, and teamwork. -Experience with alternative delivery projects such as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Design-Build is preferred, but not required. -Brings proven experience in heavy civil construction—earthwork, concrete, and utilities. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with 5–10 years of industry experience preferred. -Communicates clearly and collaborates seamlessly with project teams and clients.
