Working in collaboration with other design teams and disciplines to ensure the integrity and quality of the overall design;
Developing and producing flexible and rigid pavement thickness designs, rigid pavement detailing and jointing layouts, pavement interface and edge detailing, subsurface drainage details and plans;
Coordinating pavement designs with project teams working across multiple offices;
Meeting project deadlines and ensuring that commitments and expectations are met;
Liaising with and assisting the Project Manager to ensure commercial aspects can be successfully achieved;
Creating sustainable and innovative pavement solutions;
Presentation of pavement design to contractor clients, road authorities and other clients;
Providing both technical leadership and technical advice on pavement design as part of the temporary works and permanent works design development throughout the project lifecycle from concept design, detailed design through to construction phase services and asset management;
Representing Arcadis within the wider industry as an ambassador of our capabilities in the market;
Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;

Demonstrated involvement in technical societies in the field of pavements would be advantageous;
Approximately 10+ years’ relevant Australian experience in all forms of pavement design including flexible and rigid pavement types for highways, ports, intermodals, airports, commercial and residential developments;
Competent in the use of specialist pavement design software such as CIRCLY and TfNSW software such as FPD2, PTL2 and RPD;
Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen;
Expertise in pavement materials is an advantage but not essential;
Passion to drive innovation and improvement in pavement design solutions;
Demonstrated ability to lead a small team, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills;
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional accreditation. Post-graduate qualifications would be an advantage;
Expertise in pavement evaluation and rehabilitation design is an advantage but not essential;
Excellent presentation skills;
Experience of whole of life cost analysis and pavement optioneering;
Experience in delivering high quality drawings and reports (including calculations) for concept (tender design and reference design) and detailed design projects;
Experience preparing fee buildups and proposals for new opportunities;
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and relationship building skills, both internally and externally;
Excellent client-focus and a sound technical know-how;
Demonstrated self-management and proven ability to work independently.
Sound knowledge of technical specifications from one or more State Road Authorities;
Demonstrated experience of managing interdisciplinary design interfaces and/or projects;
Experience with other design software such as AutoCAD, FAARFIELD and EverFE would be advantageous;
Competent in the use of Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology series;
