The Role
Overview
Manages daily production operations, safety, quality, cost, and team development.
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Maintain attendance and performance records. -Provide performance reviews, coaching, and training. -Ensure compliance with raw material and inventory systems. -Respond to and investigate environmental incidents and spills; implement energy-saving practices. -Support and lead waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives. -Enforce safety policies, conduct plant tours, and implement corrective actions. -Support training system development and payroll/timekeeping review. -Investigate off-quality and customer complaints; lead corrective actions. -Encourage associate participation in continuous improvement (OFIs). -Approve batchsheets and process changes as needed. -Act as backup to the Senior Production Manager. -Maintain communication and coordination with planning teams to meet production schedules. -Control labor, supply, and operating costs. -Monitor batchsheet compliance and process audits. -Promote a safety-first culture; ensure training, audits, and safety certifications.

-Strong ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment -Demonstrated leadership and people development capabilities -Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and group presentations -A thoughtful communication style with the ability to listen, learn quickly, and communicate effectively across all levels—from hourly associates to senior plant leadership -Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills -Previous experience managing 20+ associates in a manufacturing environment -Previous management experience with teams -SAP knowledge and experience with SAP inventory management -Progressive management experience of teams -Working knowledge of ISO Quality and Environmental Standards -Ability to climb stairs and obtain medical clearance to wear a full-face respirator -This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for a work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.). -Prior experience in chemical manufacturing -Strong desire and ability to coach, mentor, and manage hourly associates -Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; candidates with a degree in Chemistry will be considered with relevant experience -Proficiency in Microsoft Office
