The Role
Overview
Install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber lines, respond to outages, and operate equipment.

Tasks
-Work will be performed at varying heights above ground, in manholes, and/or in confined spaces. -drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew, operate digger derrick to set poles, and use jackhammer, etc. -Assists in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of distribution, substation facilities and systems including reconductoring existing lines. -Operates motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on -Attend to service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems. -climb a power pole using climbing hooks and belt. -Responds to emergencies during holidays, weekends and national disasters. -identify the hazards on the job. -Follows safety guidelines as part of training. -Stocks and services vehicles to be equipped to respond to emergency situations. -meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck and all other existing equipment as identified by manufacturer.

-FREQUENT(up to 66 %): Stooping, Squatting, Body Twisting, Manual Dexterity, Reading, Climbing Ladders, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Poles, Gripping, and Climbing Stairs -Unless otherwise noted, we do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. -work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work. -Journeyman Lineperson Certification required. -OCCASIONAL(up to 33%): Sitting, Kneeling, and Crawling -Works nights, weekends, and holidays for extended periods; required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters. -Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check. -CONTINUOUS(up to 100%): Standing, Walking, Sense of Touch, Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Seeing, Reaching, Range of Motion, Hearing-Speech Range, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting Over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Balancing, Lifting Up to 10 lbs., and Lifting Up to 50 lbs. -walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material. -work with hands above head for extended periods of time. -All job offers are subject to pre-employment drug screening and a background check. -work efficiently and effectively from heights. -Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required. -Receives training both in book/classroom skills and on the job skills.
