Tasks

As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of complex civil projects — roads, utilities, excavation, and more. You’ll drive progress across operations, ensure compliance with contracts, and coordinate between internal teams, vendors, and clients. 👷 ♂️ Lead the teams building tomorrow’s infrastructure. -Manage project engineers, superintendents, and foremen across job sites -Monitor safety, budget, quality, schedule, and production targets -Provide accurate forecasts and alerts on opportunities, risks, and gaps -Lead project reporting, budgeting meetings, and scheduling reviews -Drive final closeout with the Planning Department to meet client expectations -Maintain project cash flow, billing, and collections -Resolve engineering or field conflicts swiftly with SMEs and team leads -Ensure labor, material, and equipment costs are tracked and controlled -Interface with clients, vendors, and subs to resolve challenges and stay aligned -Collaborate with estimating, procurement, planning, and trucking teams -Process RFIs, change orders, POs, and submittals accurately and on time -Oversee project milestones, scope, contracts, and compliance documentation -Track project documentation and ensure contract adherence -Oversee subcontractors, quality control, and site logistics

We’re looking for someone who’s just as comfortable managing a Gantt chart as they are walking a muddy jobsite. Are you a strategic leader who thrives on managing people, budgets, and timelines? At Total Civil Construction & Engineering, we’re looking for a Project Manager who can command the field and the office, someone who ensures safety, quality, and profitability from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting. -Deep field knowledge in underground utilities, sitework, and roadway construction -Heavy Job, Foundation, Procore, Primavera/MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD -Skilled in scheduling, financial forecasting, and construction documentation -Effective communicator with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams -Can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision -Comfortable working in both office and field environments -MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook; PowerPoint preferred) -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management (Required) -Familiarity with contracting, procurement, RFIs, change orders, and pay apps -Must drive to local sites (DC, MD, VA) several times per week -Can interpret and use contracts as a management tool -Can build trust, resolve conflict, and inspire accountability -English (Advanced) | Spanish (Basic – Preferred) -Strong leadership and decision-making in high-pressure environments -3+ years in project management for civil construction
