  • Develop and set the overarching DevOps strategy for high availability and robust security.
  • Implement high-level, business-focused KPIs to measure organizational effectiveness and velocity.
  • Lead the management and growth of the entire engineering function, with ultimate responsibility for the performance and culture of key teams, including the 12-person full-stack group.
  • Champion a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves culture that respects the contributions of both long-tenured veterans and newer talent, ensuring clear paths for progress and promotion for all.
  • Provide strategic direction and high-level leadership for the entire engineering organization, aligning all efforts with EarthCam’s product and innovation goals.
  • Drive the product and technology roadmaps, incorporating cutting-edge techniques and ensuring our systems remain scalable and high-performance.
  • Maintain sufficient technical depth to enforce a culture of continuous improvement, including requiring and validating the rigor of code review processes and quality gates across all teams.
  • Serve as the ultimate architectural authority, guiding major cross-platform decisions for Mobile (Kotlin/Swift), Web (React), and Backend (PHP/Laravel) systems.

This role requires working on-site five days a week at our 10-acre campus headquarters in Upper Saddle River, Northern NJ, conveniently located just off Route 17.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction for complex, multi-platform software systems.
  • Proven success in scaling engineering organizations and implementing robust governance, quality, and DevOps processes.
  • Must possess the enthusiasm and technical credibility to dive into architectural and code quality discussions across the full stack.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a senior leadership or Director-level role managing multiple functional engineering areas.
