Assist with residential construction tasks, safety, and volunteer leadership during summer.

Tasks

-Adhere to worksite safety requirements and safe work practices. -Work with training and oversight from experienced construction staff. -Inform Senior Construction Supervisors of any conditions that affect the build schedule. -With training and guidance from Senior Construction Supervisors, develop skills to lead volunteers. -View your HFHO email account at least once per day. -Maintain good communication and cooperative relationships with all other HFHO staff, departments, project teams and contractors. -Maintain a clean and organized worksite. -Return tools to assigned vehicle or proper storage location by the end of each day. -Show up to work on time and be prepared for the day. -Assist the Senior Construction Supervisors in meeting the project schedule. -Practice good stewardship with HFHO’s resources. -Maintain and protect all tools, equipment, and materials while on the jobsite. -Responsible use of equipment, tools, supplies and materials so each project remains within allocated budget and schedule. -Ensure that volunteers and family partners have a fulfilling volunteer experience. -Safely operate and maintain a variety of construction tools. -Assist staff with various residential construction tasks including, but not limited to, framing, siding, installation of doors, windows, interior cabinets and trim. -Record daily work accomplishments within project management application.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements is preferred. -Ability to work collegial within a team. -Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. -Individual must be a good communicator. -Complete other tasks successfully that are assigned by Senior Construction Supervisors and skilled team members within allotted time-period. -Basic use of a tape measure and level preferred. -Computer literacy is preferred.
