The Role

Overview

Design and support of water/wastewater treatment plant mechanical systems.

Tasks

-Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. -Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. -Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. -Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. -Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. -Construction services support (e.g., shop drawing review). -Identifies discrepancies in results.

What You Bring

-8+ years of experience in design and layout of mechanical process piping, valves, equipment, etc. -Ability to work with a diverse team. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). -Experience in the water/wastewater industry. -Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment. -Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations. -Builds analytic and design skills. -Licensed Professional Engineer. -Proficient with AutoCAD and REVIT. -Experienced, self-directed professional. -Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture. -Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical or mechanical engineering + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. -Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines. -Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. -Excellent oral and written communication skills.
