  • Provide technical and professional leadership / support, line management and mentoring of junior members of staff.
  • Support the development and continued growth of the wider Cities, Planning & Design group in the North geography. Keep up to date with market developments, anticipate market changes, and assess opportunities for the expansion of services.
  • Support senior management in delivering key projects and manage individual projects as Project Manager.
  • Assist in and lead bids / submissions and work winning activities around all aspects of active travel.

If you have a passion for active and sustainable travel and want to join an established team delivering award-winning projects across the country.

Experience of writing and presenting technical reports, bids.

Proven experience of leading projects including all quality, commercial and Health & Safety aspects.

Degree qualification and chartered or working towards chartership in relevant institution CIHT/ TPP/ ICE or similar.

Experience in transport planning with technical knowledge demonstrated across a range of areas, especially active travel, sustainable transport and behaviour change.

Self-motivated & ability to build and maintain client relationships. Proven business development experience.

We are seeking a diverse and experienced individual who can demonstrate transport planning, active travel, behaviour change and project management capabilities.

Experience in stakeholder and community engagement and working within multi-disciplinary teams. Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate should be able to work under clear instruction and independently, with a track record of winning, managing and delivering quality outputs aligned with project deadlines. In particular, the candidate should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the local markets within Scotland.

Able to manage workload and ability to carry out, delegate and check tasks to strict deadlines and budgets.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have a strong interest in the Planning, Design and Consultation of active travel schemes and who can demonstrate relationships with key stakeholders and work winning success in this field.

Experience of participating in and leading meetings with transport agencies, operators, local authorities and private sector clients to demonstrate competence, understanding and a problem-solving attitude.
