Tasks

-Developing and maintaining a network of internal laboratory clients (e.g. PMs, PMCLs, PTLs, and CSLs) and external clients -Writing and/or reviewing technical reports -Ensuring that all laboratory waste is managed and disposed of properly -Partnering with lab management to assess external RFPs for research projects, as well as helping maintain relationships with our teaming partners -Assisting the lab manager in the oversight of day-to-day activities for all projects in the lab -Supporting the lab director and lab manager with respect to: -As needed, provides input to leadership of the lab staff for Focal reviews, as well as Conversations to Align/Aspire -Monitoring the laboratory facility itself to ensure all systems are operating properly; interfacing with the building landlord and/or equipment repair vendors as needed -Maintaining proper inventory of all required reagents, materials, glassware, etc. -Working with Leadership to ensure staff are remaining engaged in their work, and to assess advancement opportunities for them -Ensuring lab instruments and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated -Preparing proposals and cost estimates for prospective new laboratory projects -Assigning lab staff to lab projects based on their qualifications, experience, and career aspirations -Serving as a technical resource on a wide range of laboratory projects -Working directly with Lab Director, to implement the strategic vision of the Research and Testing Laboratory -Ensuring all laboratory projects comply with CDM Smith and our clients’ quality requirements -Tracking progress of lab projects to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget -Ensuring the health and safety of all lab employees and visitors
