The Role

Tasks

-Manage time and attendance systems, ensuring data integrity. -Maintain up-to-date payroll data, including employee information and tax withholding status. -Respond promptly with a strong customer service approach to payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and other stakeholders. -Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required. -Accurately process and review payroll on a regular basis, ensuring completeness of all transactions. -Import and export payroll data via CSV files and ensure data integrity across systems. -Keeping up with knowledge on payroll laws and regulations, ensuring full compliance. -Complies with company policies and procedures. -Managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. -Assist with year-end payroll processing, including preparation of W-2 forms. -Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple divisions. -Union payrolls, ensuring correct fringe benefits and reporting to trade union(s). -Will maintain payroll data in multiple environments (Paychex, ADP, COINS) -Partner with HR to ensure proper onboarding/offboarding of employees in payroll systems. -Collaborate with HR and other departments to verify the accuracy of employee data.

What You Bring

-Accuracy and exceptional attention to detail. -Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for long periods of time. -Ability to work overtime if needed. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. -Ability to lift, push and pull materials to complete assigned job tasks. -Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. -Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. -Minimum 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid to large organization. -Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws. -Demonstrated experience with California payroll requirements. -Experience with prevailing wage and/or union payroll is strongly preferred. -Proficient in Microsoft Excel (I.E.VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, & basic logical functions such as IF and OR.) -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Experience with construction payroll is preferred. -Skilled in using payroll software and related tools; Paychex, ADP, and/or COINS experience is a plus. -Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and as needed.
