Tasks
-Participates in development of technical proposals -Supporting company business development activities as it relates to renewable energy projects -Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work -Monitoring your teams project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects Solar PV system design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground mount (fixed tilt and single-axis tracking) systems -Support drawing production - Solar PV system -Supervising a team of engineers in the completion of utility scale solar projects as well as solar microgrid solutions -Providing input to management on project resourcing and staff forecasting needs -Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise, technical expertise for studies and design efforts, and presents complex technical solutions to clients -Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning -Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others -Reviews, checks and signs off work prepared by team -One line and three-line diagrams, Cable and Conduit Schedules Bill of Materials PV system cost estimation and payback evaluations DC and low to medium voltage power distribution design -Developing solar construction and equipment specifications -Serves as lead solar engineer and Engineer of Record on mid- to large size solar PV projects -Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities -Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings -Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule

What You Bring
-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study + 4 (four) years of relevant experience including in the electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems. -Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish. -Engineering calculations (NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection sizing, utility disconnect requirements, voltage drop, and conduit sizing) -Ten (10) years of engineering experience preferred -Experience with efficient building design, including municipal infrastructure -Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal) -Experience working with utilities in Western Canada -Current professional engineering license. -Experience with other software in the industry such as NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope Battery Energy Store System and/or other renewables experience -MV AC Collection System Design Experience -Proficient with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855 -Highly Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel desired -Strong Familiarity with utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.).
