Tasks
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Foreperson will play a vital role in managing construction teams, maintaining a high standard of quality, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This position is responsible for safety, trade management, material organization, quality, cleanliness, and removal or roadblocks to facilitate the project schedule. -Inspect and measure completed work. -Adhere to relevant safety regulations. -Regularly report project status to the Project Manager. -Manage construction tasks in accordance with priorities and goals. -Maintain all required reporting and logs as required. -Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled. -Supervise and optimize labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors on-site. -Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably. -Participate in project closeout inspection process. -Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear and procedures. -Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction crew, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong desire to learn, the ability to perform strenuous physical labour, and a positive, responsible nature. -Able to work in a fast-paced environment. -OFA Level 2 an asset. -Valid BC Class 5 license with a clean driving record, and reliable transportation. -Problem solving nature, looking for optimal solutions. -Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint). -Punctual, reliable, self-motivated. -A team player who is willing to help out as needed to get the job done and is highly adaptable in work hours and workload management. -Works well with minimal supervision while maintaining a high-quality product. -Experience in multi-family residential wood frame buildings an asset. -Excellent communication and people skills. -Strong work ethic, high standards, and personal accountability. -5+ years of carpentry experience or a similar role. -Ticketed on skid steer, rough terrain forklift and boom lifts is an asset. -Excellent organizational and time management skills. -Willing and able to take and follow directions. -Has good knowledge of equipment operation. -Physical strength, stamina, and coordination to be able to perform required job tasks. -A good understanding of Part 3 BC Building Code. -Possess a general understanding of construction procedures, equipment operation and safety guidelines. -Experience using Procore software an asset. -5+ years of experience in a construction site leadership role. -Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. -Red Seal Carpenter Certification is an asset. -Professional attitude and demeanor. -Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings. -Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and motivate crew while demonstrating team values and work ethic. -On-site assessment prior to new scopes of commencing.
