Rincon Consultants is seeking an Environmental Planner/Assistant Project Manager in our Utilities Sector with experience in land use entitlement and CEQA/NEPA for renewable energy infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for preparing and managing discretionary land use permit applications and CEQA/NEPA documents, and coordinating with technical experts to deliver high-quality environmental studies and permits. This position offers an opportunity to grow both technical and project coordination skills in a collaborative and mission-driven consulting environment.

  • BS or MS in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Experience preparing CEQA/NEPA documents
  • Experience in land use entitlement
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to contribute effectively both independently and on collaborative teams
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental planning or consulting
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven, with strong time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
