The Role

Overview

Coordinate receiving, storage, packing, shipping and staff in a warehouse

Tasks

-Maintains accurate inventory levels; resolves discrepancies as they occur; recognizes the opportunity for error and takes appropriate action to eliminate it. -Makes recommendations regarding staffing, promotions, terminations, performance reviews and training personnel for assigned area. -Answers questions and assists DC Team Members as needed. -Assists with packaging of materials for shipping according to specified instructions or customer requirements; ensures all product/shipping labels are legible and accurate. -Unloads shipments from trucks utilizing forklift or pallet jack; reads labels to determine designated storage or staging location; combines and separates shipment into individual pallets based on product and/or ship ID numbers; confirms order quantities with packing lists; inputs information into SAP utilizing Viad@t. -Maintains clean work environment; may perform 5S activities (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, and sustain) to organize and manage distribution center. -Assists Supervisor with monitoring quality, including but not limited to facility and equipment care, proactive damage control, and pallet quality. -Scans and picks coils and fittings utilizing order picker according to customer orders. -Manually loads bundles onto trucks for shipping, according to computer generated work order and/or verbal instruction. -Trains personnel as needed; instructs personnel and/or demonstrates appropriate methods and procedures to complete work assignments. -Assists Supervisor with Kronos activities, including but not limited to tracking hours and monitoring/approving vacation and sick leave. -Operates pallet wrapper in order to prepare pallets for shipping. -Confirms orders in SAP. -Picks inventory and places in containers; transports to packing lanes; verifies quantity matches with scanner instructions; moves product into final shipping container; labels container to create final shipping unit; confirms into SAP utilizing Viad@t; transports to designated shipping area; ensures orders are accurate and efficient, according to company’s established guidelines and standards. -Maintains appropriate records including but not limited to shift logs, job skills tracking, freight sheets, tracking metrics, etc. -Scans pallets and inventory into receiving to determine proper storage location; transports product accordingly utilizing forklift or reach truck. -Identifies products and containers for replenishment; scans containers and transports pallets, utilizing a forklift or reach truck, to designated storage location. -Shippers are responsible for making sure all shipments and orders are packed onto trucks according to bills of lading and information is updated in SAP utilizing Viad@t. -Utilizes a forklift or reach truck to transport pallets from receiving and production areas to designated storage and staging locations. -Coordinates the day-to-day activities involving receiving, storing, packing and shipping of merchandise and materials; assists in preparing work schedules and ensures adequate personnel is available to meet workflow requirements; assists in monitoring workload and productivity of personnel in order to meet department productivity standards; makes recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity activities. -Receives returns; verifies quantities match with documentation; confirms items in SAP utilizing Viad@t; updates and makes notes as necessary; prints and attaches updated labels; returns product to designated storage area.

What You Bring

-Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, etc. -Ability to lift and move heavy or bulky items weighing 50 pounds or more -Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing -Ability to adhere to quality standards and procedures -Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred -Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook, SAP -Lean experience preferred -4-5 years of warehouse experience -Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level -Knowledge of proper lifting techniques -Knowledge of warehouse management systems -Ability to pay close attention to detail -High School Diploma or equivalent -Picks and labels straight lengths; transports to shipping docks utilizing forklift. -Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department -Ability to read and understand information presented -Ability to motivate and lead employees
