The Role

Overview

Perform complex concrete and finish carpentry tasks, supervising crew as needed.

Tasks

-Installation of safety railings, floor openings and general safety items. -Teaches and trains the team to perform scope of work to the highest quality standard. -Quality installation of doors, hardware and accessories -Placement of rebar according to plans and specs -Cleans and maintains concrete and forming tools. -Performs layout activities as it relates to the specific task -Placement of concrete with bucket, chute, pump and placement procedures, agitation etc. -Leads by example, providing proper guidance and instruction to team. -Responsible for material forecasting for specific task. -Sets forms for concrete including but not limited to foundations, SOG, bulkheads. -Installation of PT accessories, cables, chairs, reinforcing, blocking, etc. -Adheres to JE Dunn safety standards. -Responsible for completing JE Dunn reports and pre-task planning. -Coordinates and implements safety procedures for tasks. -Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards. -Performs advanced placement and finishing of concrete flatwork -Installation of in-wall and roof blocking/general carpentry. -Assists in the installation of doors, frames & hardware. -Coordinates with foreman on upcoming work and durations. -Erects temporary partitions and doors.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with the basic elements of framing or forming. -High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) -Effective Communication skills, verbal and written -Basic understanding of principles of layout and construction math -Demonstrates excellent expertise within concrete and/or finished carpentry. -5+ years commercial construction experience (Preferred) -Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs -Expected behavioral standards: Shows up and is ready to work when scheduled Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible Shows respect for yourself and others Works safely Has a can-do attitude -Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work -Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches) -Identifies and understands construction details as it relates to concrete carpentry -Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen -Finish Carpentry Specialty: Quality installation of casework and countertops Quality installation all types of running trim and wood paneling Quality installation of doors, hardware and accessories Identifies, understands, and applies construction details as it relates to finish carpentry -Applies advanced understanding of formwork systems and installation (columns / walls) -Ability to provide excellent customer service -May require use of respirator -Concrete Carpentry Specialty: Placement of rebar according to plans and specs Performs layout activities as it relates to the specific task Applies advanced understanding of formwork systems and installation (columns / walls) Installation of PT accessories, cables, chairs, reinforcing, blocking, etc. Performs advanced placement and finishing of concrete flatwork Identifies and understands construction details as it relates to concrete carpentry -Knowledge of setting forms for concrete (Foundations / SOG / Bulkheads) -Knowledge of all carpentry hand tools, use and own all required hand tools and pouches -Reads and understands project plans within applicable scope of work. -Working knowledge of all concrete tools and carpentry hand tools. -Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner -Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal guidance -Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor. -Basic understanding and use of principles of layout and construction math as necessary per project needs. -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. -Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred) -Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally -5+ years experience in specific trade (Required) -Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Kneeling, Carrying, Swinging, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Balancing -Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible -Basic acceptable finishing of concrete with floats and trowels (columns/walls/foundations). -Quality installation of casework and countertops -Identifies, understands, and applies construction details as it relates to finish carpentry -Must have reliable transportation -Quality installation all types of running trim and wood paneling -Knowledge of all concrete tools and how they work
