Overview

Assist with design calculations, plans, and field work on transportation infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Determine right-of-way requirements -Coordinate with utilities -Use AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, or other design software packages -Apply technical training to perform basic calculations -Participate in detailed plan development for all phases of a design project -Review field information -Assist with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development -Conduct possible field inspections of existing facilities -Utilize MS Office applications

What You Bring

-Ability to work well in a team setting -Adjust to short-term assignments and remain dedicated to long-term projects -Willingness to work diligently to learn new skills -Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. -Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. -Computer literacy and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly are a requirement -Adaptability and flexibility (adjusting to short-term and long-term assignments) -Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
