Electrical Engineering Intern - Buildings (Summer 2026)

Electrical engineering intern designing building systems using BIM and Revit.

Tasks

-Works with project managers and technical design staff to prepare and revise drawing documentation in various engineering phases including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, details, energy models, and calculations. -Participation in design presentation and dialogues -Converts redlines to documentready work. -Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials. -Performs design for the electrical discipline using BIM technologies to develop three dimensional models of buildings and their components under direction of senior staff. -Publishes, posts, and manages drawing sets. -Conduct basic calculations and lay outs to analyze and design individual building system components. -Maintains drawing revisions. -Creates electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.

What You Bring

-Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling. -Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (AutoCAD & Revit) preferred. -Basic understanding of floor plans, one lines, and details. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to perform basic calculations and a basic understanding of engineering concepts. -Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. -Has familiarity with electrical, lighting, and technology design within the built environment is preferred. -Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Completion of the junior year is preferred. -Up to 2 years of related project or internship experience is preferred.
