The Role

Overview

Supervises highway maintenance, safety, staffing, and quality on National Highways projects.

Tasks

-Oversee accurate recording of completed work, waste identification and disposal, and compliance with COSHH and HAVs audits. -Arrange training, conduct PDR reviews, mentor staff and apprentices, and participate in interviews for prospective employees. -Support the QS team and collaborate with supply chain partners to maintain high safety and quality standards. -Ensure correct materials and traffic management are provided and utilised efficiently, with minimal waste and maximum specification compliance. -Provide technical support, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to teams, ensuring correct use of PPE and compliance with CDM regulations. -Prepare duty rotas for winter service, emergency callouts, and other operational needs; arrange and process overtime and timesheets promptly. -Participation in emergency and winter service delivery -Manage resources, employee availability, and absence records in liaison with OCR; ensure compliance with working time directive. -Conduct on-site visits to ensure work is completed safely, to required standards, and according to programme; perform HSEA inspections as per contract.

What You Bring

-Experience of Chapter 8 and Traffic Management on High-speed roads -Full UK Driving Licence preferably with LGV Class C -Understand client business, requirements, service needs and aspirations -Skills Competent user of Microsoft Office Understand client business, requirements, service needs and aspirations Team management skills Willingness to work outside in all conditions Participation in emergency and winter service delivery Availability for work at Nights and Weekends -Competent user of Microsoft Office -Availability for work at Nights and Weekends -NVQ level 2 or City and Guilds -Experience Previous experience of Highways Maintenance contracts Experience of Chapter 8 and Traffic Management on High-speed roads -Qualifications Full UK Driving Licence preferably with LGV Class C NVQ level 2 or City and Guilds -Willingness to work outside in all conditions -Previous experience of Highways Maintenance contracts -Team management skills
