Estimate costs and prepare bids for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction projects.

Tasks
-Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. -Ensure documents are centrally saved in the company’s drive within the confidential estimating folder(s). -Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover -Coordinate efforts with the Engineering Department when needed. -Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. -Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings. -CUSTOMER SERVICE- We assure a quality response in a timely manner for both internal and external customers. -Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. -Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects. -Prepare scope letters and proposals. -Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors. -Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager with recommendation for resolution. -Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. -Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. -Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work.

What You Bring
-Quantitative take-off and computer entry. -Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation. -5+ years related experience in the construction industry. -Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel). -DEPTH OF KNOWLEDGE- Our team offers clients the highest level of understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. -Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines. -Must demonstrate proficiency in PDF viewers (Adobe or BlueBeam). -High School diploma or GED required. -Familiarity with estimating software (AutoCAD Fabrication EstMEP, Quotesoft, etc.)
