Tasks
-Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of SQL Server instances, ensuring alignment with enterprise infrastructure standards -Monitor database performance and system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to capacity, performance, and reliability -Develop and maintain operational documentation, including standard operating procedures, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines -Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to support business continuity -Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure system stability, availability, and performance -Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of SQL Server clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups -Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and network teams to ensure optimal database performance and system integration -Ensure adherence to IT governance, change management, and compliance standards for all database systems -Contribute to automation, monitoring, and performance-tuning initiatives to improve database reliability and administrative efficiency -Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and respond to critical incidents affecting database operations -Manage database security, including user access controls, encryption, and audit compliance in accordance with corporate IT policies

What You Bring
-Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, batch scripts, or equivalent tools -Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, and upgrades, including version migrations, backup and recovery (Native SQL, Rubrik, etc.), replication, and data migration activities -Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for report development and management -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. -Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, including database creation, configuration, and management, as well as data migration between on-premises and cloud environments -Ability to participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and after-hours support for critical systems -Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in database administration, including the installation, configuration, and management of enterprise-scale Microsoft SQL Server environments. -Strong proficiency in Transact-SQL (T-SQL), database security and access controls, and high availability setup, support, and maintenance -Experience administering additional database platforms such as Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, or PostgreSQL -Skilled in database monitoring, alert management, performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive system optimization -Proficient in Azure SQL security features, including private endpoint configuration, access management, and troubleshooting performance-related issues -Solid understanding of SQL Server patching processes, version management, and licensing models -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently while keeping management and stakeholders informed -Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines -Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and database management techniques -Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line administration
