Expression of Interest-Piping Designer II

Worley

The Role

Overview

Design and draft piping systems using PDMS/E3D, supporting new and existing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • field walkdowns
  • 3d modeling
  • laser scanning
  • design review
  • schedule coordination
  • piping coordination

Tasks

-Perform field walkdowns of existing facilities to verify P&IDs, take elevation measurements, identify tie-points, and route piping through existing structures. -Execute projects in brownfield environments, managing obstructions and complex design constraints. -Use 3D modeling software (PDMS/E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress. -Review and follow client procedures, project specifications, and standards. -Take part in design reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance. -Transfer field data into PDMS/E3D models and update designs accordingly. -Identify required project information and maintain schedules through the preparation of “Needs Lists.” -Work with laser scanning data to identify tie-points and design piping systems around existing obstructions within PDMS/E3D. -Coordinate piping design efforts with other engineering disciplines. -Participate in interactive planning meetings to support schedule development and establish project milestones.

Requirements

  • mechanical engineering
  • laser scanning
  • pdms
  • e3d
  • p&ids
  • sharepoint

What You Bring

-Experience preparing and verifying man-hour estimates to support cost control. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred but not required. -Experience working with laser scanning technologies for tie-point identification and piping layouts. -Required participation in safety programs and presentations. -Familiarity with SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred). -Ability to generate piping isometrics using PDMS design tools. -Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent technical diploma). Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. -Ability to coordinate and integrate piping deliverables with other engineering disciplines. -Strong understanding of P&IDs and their application in production and facility design. -Hands-on experience with PDMS/E3D modeling and drafting. -Field experience in operating facilities with significant design challenges and obstructions.
