Tasks

-Analyse global supply-demand fundamentals, macro drivers, refining economics, and geopolitical developments to form strong market views. -Recruit, mentor, and eventually scale a team of traders and analysts as the desk grows. -Identify opportunities in futures, swaps, time spreads, crack spreads, inter-grade arbitrage, and regional dislocations. -Coordinate with operations, logistics, trade finance, and risk teams when positions involve physical or optionality components. -Execute speculative trading strategies across crude and refined products, including directional, relative-value, spreads, and arbitrage positions. -Deploy risk capital with discipline and maintain consistent, risk-adjusted P&L performance. -Build and lead the proprietary oil trading desk from inception, including trading strategy, structure, and risk framework. -Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, refiners, producers, and counterparties to enhance execution and market access.

Our client, an established commodity trading house, is expanding their team in London / Geneva. As part of their diversification strategy, they are launching an Oil Trading Desk and are seeking a highly experienced speculative oil trader to build, lead, and scale this new trading business. -Based in London / Geneva. -10+ years of proven success in oil trading within a prop desk, trading house, hedge fund, NOC trading arm, or energy-focused investment platform. -Deep knowledge of crude and product markets, derivatives, spreads, options, and global oil flows. -Strong and verifiable track record of consistent P&L generation with disciplined risk management.
