Tasks

-Mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors within the team. -Manage subcontractor accounts and payments in line with company procedures. -Lead procurement processes including subcontractor selection, tender analysis, and contract award. -Support site teams with commercial and contractual advice. -Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and value engineering. -Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and relevant legislation. -Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception to completion. -Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim and final accounts. -Identify and manage risks, variations, and change control. -Prepare and manage project cash flow forecasts and cost reports.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic main contracting team. The successful candidate will play a key commercial role in managing large-scale construction projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring profitability, value for money, and compliance with all contractual obligations. -Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract NEC3 or NEC 4 -Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent. -Previous mentoring or team leadership experience. -Experience with design & build contracts. -Proficient in cost management software (e.g. Causeway, COINS, Excel). -Proven track record managing large-scale projects (commercial, residential, or infrastructure). -Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines. -Chartered status (MRICS or working towards). -Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. -Minimum 8+ years’ experience with a main contractor. -Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
