- heat treating
- paint spraying
- blueprint reading
Tasks
-Perform rework and touch-up when tests disclose rework necessary. -Set up and operate robotic spray coating equipment by selecting and loading program tapes, masking material surfaces, mixing blend coating material and controlling spray flow rates, pressures, plume geometry and robot travel speed and pattern. -Set up operate processing equipment to anodize and electro plate or clean metal parts and assemblies. Determine sequences of dips and rinses, position parts and electrodes, calculate and adjust immersion times, temperatures, and voltage amperage levels. Check and maintain processing solutions and chemicals in tanks as required. -Record manufacturing data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system. -Apply finish coats where, difficult access and special care must be taken to avoid runs and inconsistencies of coat thickness, a baked smooth or wrinkle finish is required, assemblies require hand brushwork. -Set up and operate, adjust, and regulate various types and sizes of ovens and furnaces and quenching tanks to heat treat metal parts made from aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and other similar metals. Load on racks to minimize warpage and obtain even heat. As necessary operate hand and power moving and lifting equipment to place parts in ovens furnaces, and baths and quench. -Set up and operate various types of paint spraying equipment or dip, roll and brush interior, exterior prime, protective or finish coats on aircraft, automobiles, trucks, trailers, parts and assemblies. -Set up and operate chern-mill processing equipment to remove specified amounts of metal from sheet metal parts, and assemblies, extrusions and forgings utilizing etching solution, includes developmental. Experimental, first run and parts with non - symmetrical surfaces, radial tapers, deep draws, or complex contours. -Manager will schedule a demo upon start to make sure contractor can paint -Operate robotic spray coating equipment to apply radar absorptive materials to surfaces. -Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, planning documents, sketches, engineering orders, electronic work instructions, charts, and graphs to determine the methods and sequences of operations required to support processing and painting operations.
