Prepare and manage construction Bills of Quantities to ensure accurate cost estimates.

Tasks

-Report any discrepancies or issues identified in the BOQ to project management -Maintain and update BOQ documentation throughout all project phases, including variation orders -Stay current with industry standards, trends, and best practices in BOQ preparation and cost estimation -Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements using appropriate methods and software -Analyze and monitor project budgets and expenditures to track project performance -Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for construction projects in alignment with project specifications and drawings -Assist in the preparation of tender documents and provide support during the bidding process -Review and clarify project documents and drawings to ensure accurate estimations -Collaborate with project teams to understand project scopes, schedules, and requirements -Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing and materials procurement

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts -Good communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with project teams and stakeholders -A minimum of 10+ years of experience in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and quantity surveying in the construction industry -Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIQS) are an asset -Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field -Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment -Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate quantity take-offs -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills -Experience working with project management software and building information modeling (BIM) tools -Proficient in BOQ software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant estimation tools
