The Role
Overview
Oversee HVAC, boiler, and building systems operations and maintenance for ACS.

Tasks
-Conduct equipment testing, troubleshoot system irregularities, and proactively address performance issues across all major building systems. -Supervise and support small on-site staff, setting daily priorities and ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality maintenance work. -Respond promptly to occupant comfort issues, primarily HVAC-related, and provide clear communication and timely resolution. -Perform hands-on inspections, adjustments, and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, including air handlers, VAVs, pumps, and boilers. -Actively participate in weekly meetings with the client, providing clear operational updates, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions. -Leverage BAS to monitor and control HVAC and energy systems. Use data and analytics to optimize performance, troubleshoot remotely, and drive energy efficiency. -Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce utility costs, and extend equipment life through smart operational changes and upgrades. -Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across heating and cooling infrastructure. -Coordinate third-party vendors and ensure all contracted work complies with building standards, timelines, and safety protocols.

What You Bring
-Proficient in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and other smart building technologies -EPA Universal Certification strongly preferred -Must possess a valid 1 st or 3rd Class Steam Engineer License issued the District of Columbia -Strong hands-on mechanical and troubleshooting skills -Proven ability to work independently while also mentoring junior staff; strong leadership skills -7+ years of experience in building engineering, including HVAC and boiler operations -Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders -LEED experience or Certification preferred
